- Description
- An ottoman with storage from the Rock Rest Tourist Home. The ottoman is upholstered in a tan fabric with a floral pattern of large green, blue, and orange flowers, vines, and leaves. The fabric covering the ottoman is held in place with metal tacks visible at the folds on the bottom right and left sides of the ottoman. The ottoman has four medium brown wooden feet. There are two brass hinges at the back of the ottoman attaching the top to the base. It opens into two wood lined storage compartments divided by a hinged wooden flap connected to the top side of the ottoman with two additional brass hinges. The top storage compartment is empty. Under the flap, the bottom storage compartment has wooden dividers that separate it into five (5) sub compartments that contain yarn spools, string, lace, and plastic rings (2011.12.4.2-.8). Attached to the top and bottom parts of the ottoman's interior is a chain that holds the open top at a ninety degree angle to the base.
