Description
A first edition hardcover copy of Conversations: Straight Talk with America's Sister President by Johnnetta B. Cole. The book is paperboard bound with cloth tape and sewn binding. The book has a dust jacket that features a large color photograph of Cole set against a dark gray background. Cole is depicted facing the viewer. She is wearing a yellow blazer and is smiling. Her hands are raised into fists in front of her shoulders. The title of the book, [Conversations / STRAIGHT TALK / WITH AMERICA’S / SISTER PRESIDENT], is printed in white text in cursive and block text in the top left corner. The author’s name, [JOHNNETTA B. COLE], is printed in black text with white shadowing inside a red banner at the bottom of the front of the dust jacket. The spine of the dust jacket is black with the author’s name and the title of the book printed in red and white text in varying fonts. The publishers name, [DOUBLE DAY], is printed at the bottom of the jacket spine in white text inside a red band. Double Day’s logo, an anchor, is printed above. The back of the dust jacket is mostly white with black and red accents in the top left and bottom right corners. Red text in the top left corner reads [Advance Praise for / Conversations]. In the large white field below are black text, promotional blurbs from various authors. The barcode is printed in the bottom right corner. Front cover is red with a black spine tape binding. The book covers are red with a black cloth tape covering the spine. Both the front and black covers are plain and the abbreviated title, [Conversations], the author’s name, and logo for Doubleday are printed in gold text on the spine. The pastedown and flyleaf are yellow/orange. There is an ink inscription centered on the half-title page that reads [For / Hazel Sinclair / With respect / and love on / Mother's Day and / every day. / Johnnetta B. Cole / May 2, 1993]. On the title page is an ink mark above the word [Auckland]. The interior pages are white with black text. The book has 190 pages and an about the author on the following page.
