Description
An Ebony magazine, August 1969 Special Issue, featuring the cover article, “The Black Revolution,” Vol. XXIV No. 10. The front cover features a black-and-white painted portrait of a man. The man is depicted from the neck up and is facing the viewer. He is looking up and to the right edge of the magazine. In the bottom right corner is main headline in white text that reads, [THE / BLACK / REVOLUTION]. In the upper left corner is the publication mast head, a red banner with white block lettering that reads: [EBONY]. Above the mast head is small white text that reads [A JOHNSON PUBLICATION 6[encircled]]. In the lower left corner, in small white text, is the publication date and price, [AUGUST 1969 60¢], and [SPECIAL ISSUE] in the bottom right corner. The bottom center of the front cover has a white address label sticker with black type. The back cover of the magazine features a full page, color advertisement for Salem brand cigarettes. There are one hundred and eighty-two (182) interior pages with color and black-and-white images and text.
