- Description
- A black-and-white photograph of six people socializing on the lawn of the Rock Rest Tourist Home. Five women and one man are arranged in a semi-circle. The two women on the far-left side of the image are sitting in front of an open, striped, lawn umbrella with fringe. The woman on the far left is seated on a wooden, spindle back chair. Her body is turned towards the viewer and she is looking down at a magazine in her lap. She is wearing a light-toned dress and a shrug. Next to her is a woman in a vertical kneeling position, with one upraised knee. She kneels behind an Adirondack chair and rests her proper left hand on the armrest and her proper right arm is akimbo. She is wearing a light-toned patterned dress. At the center of the image is a woman partially reclined in an Adirondack chair. Her legs are extended in front of her and her arms are resting on the armrests. She is wearing a dark-toned skirt and a white, short sleeve blouse. Next to her is a man wearing medium-toned pants and a white collared shirt. He is standing, facing the viewer with his hands held in front of him. Next to him, is a woman in a straight back, wooden rocking chair. She is depicted sitting with her legs crossed and her arms folded over her waist, looking towards the viewer. She wears a dark-toned dress and strapped shoes. On the far right is a woman seated in a straight back wooden chair. She is wearing a collared, short sleeve, light-toned dress and rests both of her hands in her lap. In the background is a driveway, a road, a flagpole flying the American flag, a low stone wall, and a line of trees. The photograph has a white frame with scalloped edges. A repeating embedded pattern on the verso reads [VELOX] and stamped along the bottom right edge is the text [463C].
