Description
A wooden plant stand table from the Rock Rest Tourist Home. The mahogany, wood table is tall and narrow with a small, round top, turned legs, and a diamond-shaped shelf at the bottom connecting all four legs. The tabletop is plain and is supported by a round skirt with the bottom edge carved with a ribbon and ball pattern. The top of the four legs are squared and carved into identical rectangular shapes that feature a carved floral pattern on the outwards facing sides. Below, the wood is turned, fluted, and tapers towards the bottom shelf. The points of the diamond-shaped bottom shelf are attached to the legs at a second set of carved rectangular shapes. The outward facing sides of those rectangular shapes feature a simple carved, interior rectangular frame. A partially torn, blue and white label adhered to the bottom of the table has white printed text that reads [[MARGESO?]N BROS. [SPECIA?]LISTS IN / FURNISHINGS / [PORTSM?]OUTH N.H] and handwritten pencil text below that reads [Mah]. On the underside of the table shelf is a partially torn, round, blue and white sticker with white text that reads [[----?] COMPANY] with a printed partial, red, triangle below that reads [REGISTERED] at the base and has illegible text on the other two sides.
