Description
A 7" 45 rpm single record (a) of with the song "To Be Young, Gifted and Black" on Side 1. Recorded by Japanese artist Keiko Tsuru and released in Japan on RCA Records. The record has a cream colored label with grey printed text. The RCA logo is on the left side. Most of the text is in Japanese with [(Bel Enfant Noir)] printed beneath the Japanese song title on Side 1. Both the Japanese and translated title have been circled with red pencil.
The record has a red RCA Records paper sleeve (b) with the RCA logo repeated in white down the center, [The World's Greatest Artists are on RCA Records] in white text across the top and white Japanese text across the bottom.
The record is accompanied by a letter (c) written to Andy Stroud from Ivan Mogull. The letter consists of black typewritten text on a grey printed letterhead with [ivan mogull music corporation] along with contact information at the top and [harvard music inc.] along the bottom. It is dated [June 21, 1972] addressed to [Mr. Andrew B. Stroud / Stroud Productions & Enterprises, Inc.] with [Re: "TO BE YOUNG, GIFTED AND BLACK" / By Nina Simone & Weldon Irvine] as the subject line. It is signed by Ivan Mogull in blue ink. The sheet of paper has a cream colored treble clef symbol printed in the center.
