- The interior contents include articles on "Dixie lawmakers spend record funds on state schools," Horne and Ellington, a choir featured in films, Smalls Paradise nightclub in Harlem, the dancer Katherine Dunham, an annual Baptist convention, the cover story "Most-Married Negroes," politics in Chicago, and "Negroes in Pro Football." There are also numerous advertisements including a Pepsi Cola campaign featuring Talladega College. The back cover features an advertisement for Schenley whiskey.
