- Description
- The June 1948 issue of Ebony magazine featuring a cover story written by Jackie Robinson. The cover features a large color portrait of Robinson's face as he looks directly at the viewer. He wears a white t-shirt and a navy baseball cap with green under the bill and appears against a sky blue background. At top right, [EBONY] appears in large white letters set in red. At bottom right, also in white against a red box [WHAT'S WRONG / WITH NEGRO / BASEBALL / By Jackie Robinson]. At bottom left, in smaller black text is [JUNE 1948 25c]. The story written by Robinson is found on pages 16-24. The interior of the magazine also contains five Pepsi advertisments illustrated by Jay Jackson. The first one has the caption: "Mmm, Daddy! Now that's art!" and features a little girl looking at a painting of a Pepsi-Co bottle in a museum setting.
