A cabinet card photograph of Mrs. Houston taken by Taylor and Wyre in Nashville, Tennessee. Mrs. Houston’s portrait captures her from the chest up, fading out from below her chest. She is wearing a pattered, almost zebra-like, dress with a bow-tie neckline, her hair back, and small dangling earrings. At the bottom margin is printed text about the photography studio [Taylor & Wrye, / Broad and Vine Streets, / Nashville, Tennessee.]. On the back, the sitter's name written at top in pencil [Mrs. Houston.].
