Green is captured from the chest up, with her looking slightly off to the left. She is wearing dark color clothing over a light color shirt. Her hair is pulled back. At the bottom is text identifying the photography studio [GIERS’ ART GALLERY, / NASHVILLE, TENN.]. On the back are several pencil inscriptions [[illegible] / her father 1896 / B. Greene], [Maggie Green], and [2825], and a red stamped number [2825].
