- A picture postcard sent to Prof. D. A. Townsend from Ella McElroy. On the front, three images from the Tennessee Agricultural and Industrial State Normal School in Nashville, Tennessee. The top left photo is captioned “PRESIDENT’S OFFICE’ with a man behind a desk and a woman sitting across from him, the top right photo is captioned “THE FACULTY” of fifteen men and women, and the bottom center photo is captioned “PRESIDENT’S HOME” with the front view of the school’s president’s home. The bottom photo is flanked by a branch with leaves at either side. Printed at the bottom of the front of the post card is [AGRICULTURAL AND INDUSTRIAL STATE NORMAL SCHOOL. NASHVILLE, TENN.” The back of the post card has correspondence written over [POST CARD / MESSAGE ON THIS SIDE. / FOR ADDRESS ONLY] and a stamp on the upper right corner. McElroy wrote to Townsend wishing him a good recovery.
