- Description
- A tri-fold program for the memorial services for midwife Amanda Carey Carter. The program is printed in black text on white paper with pink rose adornments and several color photographs. The front of the program reads [Celebration of Life / for / Amanda Edna Carey Carter / Sunrise / May 3, 1909 / Sunset / October 21, 2007]. At center is a color photograph of Carter dressed in black and wearing a black hat with a white-trimmed brim. Beneath the photo are the details of the service held October 25, 2007 at New Hope Baptist Church in Keysville, Virginia. The interior pages have the obituary, which details her work as a fourth-generation midwife in rural Virginia as well as her family life, along with the order of the service. The back of the program has a color photograph of Carter wearing a midwife's uniform and holding a baby along with a poem titled [To Those Whom I Love / and Those Who Love Me].
