A letter from Alice S. Linyear, MD, director of the Virginia Bureau of Maternal and Child Health, addressed to Samuel A. Graham, Jr., M.D., director of the Piedmont Health District. The two-page, typewritten letter is on Virginia Department of Health letterhead and is dated April 1, 1983. The letter announces a review of regulations for the [Licensing of Midwives] and is sending the regulations to all [currently licensed midwives and health directors who process their license renewal for written comments and/or suggested changes.]. The letter notes that copies of the current midwife regulations and the statute on which the regulations are based are enclosed.
