Description
A letter from a prospective patient to midwife Amanda Carey Carter regarding an upcoming birth. The letter is handwritten in blue ink on a single sheet of lined white paper, folded to make two pages. The letter is dated at top right [August 12-64] and begins "Dear Mrs. Cater, I have talked with you about delivering my baby, I told you I was due in October but Dr. Coppedge said Sept. 14. I have all my things ready." The letter is signed by Vaughan and ends with the note "I have your $25.00 also."
