- Description
- A booklet for licensed midwives in the state of Virginia, produced by the Virginia State Department of Health and owned by the midwife Amanda Carey Carter. The booklet is printed in black ink on white paper, folded and bound with staples to form 29 pages. The first page begins with a [FOREWORD] message and features a round, half-tone image of a woman in a nurse's cap and uniform. At the bottom is [This book is the property of] followed by a blank space for a name to be written in and [Licensed Midwife]. The interior contents are printed in black ink and contain regulations and procedures for midwives, from licensing to retirement. Throughout are several black and white photographs as well as reproduced examples of government forms and certificates used by the midwives. The back page is blank with no printing or marks.
