- Description
- The October 1922 (Vol. 24 No. 6) issue of The Crisis. The front cover features a portrait of Valdora Turner. The portrait is a black-and-white photograph featuring Valdora looking towards the camera. Her hair is shoulder-length and parted to one side. She holds a dark cloth around her and her shoulders and arms are bare. Beneath the portrait is printed "Children's Number." Handwritten vertically by the bottom right edge of the portrait is the inscription "Valdora Turner Spaulding." The interior content includes advertisements, photographs and illustrations, three poems and a short story, an opinion piece by W.E.B. DuBois entitled, "The Children, Marriage, Birth, Infancy, Childhood, Education, The End of It All," and stories about the National Association of Colored Women (NACW) and the Y.M.C.A. There are approximately 48 pages.
