Family and friends are gathered inside the church. Here it appears as if "Mama" King and a very young Bernice King are looking directly at my camera.
This black and white photograph shows the interior of Ebenezer Baptist Church during Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday commemoration in 1969. The audience is standing and there is media equipment and lights visible in the background. Bernice King, dressed in white, and Alberta King can be seen off-center looking toward the camera. Harry Belafonte is standing next to an unidentified woman at proper left. The back of the photograph has a manufacturer's mark, photographer's stamp and a handwritten inscription.
