- This black and white photograph shows Coretta Scott King seated inside a car outside of Ebenezer Baptist Church after Martin Luther King Jr.'s first commemorative birthday event in 1969. The car door is open and a man in a black hat and glasses in leaning down toward King. King, wearing a patterned coat with black trim, is turned away from him. There is an unidentified woman sitting behind King in the car. The press and crowd are on the other side of the car. The back of the photograph has a manufacturer's mark, and handwritten and printer's inscriptions.
