- Description
- This black and white photograph was shows Ralph David Abernathy outside of Ebenezer Baptist Church after the first commemorative birthday event for Martin Luther King Jr. in 1969. Abernathy has his head bent toward an unidentified woman who has a hand on Abernathy's shoulder and is kissing his cheek. There is a crowd behind Abernathy. A uniformed officer can be seen in the background at proper right. The back of the photograph has a manufacturer's mark and printer's inscriptions.
