- Description
- A mezzotint of a dancing female figure by Eldzier Cortor. Drawn in dark grayscale, a female figure leans backwards with her arms outstretched. She wears a heavily shaded grayscale dress, and is depicted against sharp art deco geometric shapes jutting upward like a fan. Around her legs are grayscale waves like water, and a round arch featuring neon orange at its center. Below the gray etching are two silver colored rectangular bars. The off-white background print is bordered by brown paper. Below the brown border is “T/P”, “Dance Figure II”, and the artist’s signature [Eldzier Cortor]. On the back of the intaglio, an imprinted watermark at the bottom right reads: [BFN RIVES / FRANCE], followed by an infinity symbol.
