- Description
- A hand-crank adding machine manufactured by the Burroughs Corporation and used by the Chicago Defender. The adding machine has 81 number keys (1-9) in teal, blue, and black. Above the number keys are a black key that reads [REPEAT] and a red key that reads [CLEAR]. Below the keys is the Burroughs logo. At the bottom of the front of the machine there is an open space. On the proper left side on the lower edge is a black dial. On the proper right there is a hand-crank and two machine service stickers. The sticker towards the front gives the serial number [A1970] and the part number [13002009]. The sticker towards the back notes information about the ribbon. The back of the machine has a manufacturers section that list the unit, product, and serial number as well as information about the Burroughs Corporation.
