- This is printing plate of champion typist Cortez Peters Sr. was featured in an article noting that Peters had donated typewriters to help the government in a drive for the Army and Navy's typewriters for the War effort. Peters was an international speed typing champion who could type more than 160 words per minute. He was also the founder of the Cortez Peters Schools, the first of which he founded in 1938.
