An Olympic gold medal with attached ribbon. The medal is molded with figures in relief on the obverse and reverse. The obverse side features a seated woman, representing Lady Victory, dressed in a flowing robe and holding a palm frond in her left hand and a winner's crown of leaves above her head. A coliseum is visible behind her. To her left the words [XXIV / Olympiad / Seoul / 1988] appear in relief. The reverse features a stylized relief outline of a dove holding a laurel branch in its beak. Above the bird 5 interlocking rings appear, and above this are a group of three concentric spirals, the Korean Taeguk. The rim of the medal is engraved with the words [ATHLETICS MEN LONG JUMP] at the bottom. The medal is attached by a chain link to a loop of white, orange, red, and blue striped ribbon, which is sewn at the top.
