- Description
- This waistcoat is part of a suit worn by Sherman Hemsley as the character George Jefferson on the television show "The Jeffersons." The waistcoat is a single-breasted style with a five (5) button closure, an angled bottom edge and no lapel. The front panel of the waistcoat and the trim at the neckline are made of the same rust colored fabric as the suit jacket and trousers. The five (5) buttons are brown plastic. There are two (2) inset pockets on the front, both lined with a cream fabric, and inside the proper left pocket there is a manufacturer's label. There are two small vents at the side seams.
- The waistcoat interior lining, as well as its entire back panel, both recto and verso, are made from the same tan-colored shiny synthetic fabric as is used in the suit jacket. A designer's label for Michel Faret is attached at the interior center back neck with fiber content, care, and style information. Inside the top of the proper right shoulder there is a square yellow stamp with text reading "THE / WARDROBE WING / 210105-7 38 3 pc".
