Black velvet beehive hat designed by Mae Reeves with a wide pink velvet hat band and pink velvet top on the crown. Three (3) large pink artificial roses with leaves and stems are attached to the proper front side of the crown with thread and glue, with small round pink gems glued to the petals. The underside of the short brim is faced with the black velvet. The crown and brim are formed with buckram, with wire sewn around the edge of the brim between the velvet facings. The interior of the crown is lined with black synthetic fabric with a woven diamond pattern. There is an interior hat band made from black grosgrain ribbon. An ivory designer label with black printed text is adhered to the center back of the interior band that reads: "Mae Reeves / OF / PHILADELPHIA".
