- Description
- A black-and-white cabinet photograph of U. S. Army 25th Infantry Company A, in Sturgis, South Dakota Territory. A large group of soldiers is captured, most gathered in formation, others scattered and walking towards the Company. On the left and the right of the image, behind the gathering men, are long, wide buildings. At the bottom of the cabinet card in brown ink is: [J. C. H. Grabill, Photographer, / Sturgis, Dakota Ter.]. There are numerical graphite inscriptions on the reverse, and a maker’s print in ink which reads: [COLORADO, WYOMING AND DAKOTA / VIEWS / INCLUDING / Cattle Scenes in Wyoming and Dakota. / FOR SALE BY / J. C. H. GRABILL, / STURGIS, DAK. TER.].
