Description
A tintype of a U. S. Buffalo Soldier seated on a wooden chair. Captured in studio against a floor length fabric backdrop, an unidentified Buffalo Soldier gazes directly at the camera. He wears a light-colored shirt, unbuttoned dark jacket, trousers and leather shoes. His proper left arm rests on a cloth covered table, on which is also his uniform cap; the emblem on the front is visible, but out of focus. His shirt buttons, a ring on the pinky finger of his proper right hand, and his watch chain have been hand-colored a bright yellow. There are no markings on the reverse of the tintype.
