She is wearing a black dress with a lacey bodice and a solid black skirt. She is wearing black, lacey, fingerless, opera gloves that match her dress bodice. She is looking towards the bottom left edge of the image. The photographer's mark, printed in the negative, located in the bottom left corner reads, [James J. / Kriegsmann / N.Y.]. There are no inscriptions on the front or back of the photograph.
