Description
A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of a woman. She is depicted seated on a white block with a curved edge, against a white gradient background. Her body is facing the left edge of the image and her head and torso are turned towards the viewer. She is sitting with her arms akimbo, her proper right leg extended, and her proper left foot resting on the curved edge of the block. She is looking toward the top right corner of the image. She is wearing a white, off-the-shoulders dress with a sequin embellished, ruffle detail at the top. The front of the bodice is embellished with beads, sequins, and rhinestones in a crisscross pattern. The long dress skirt opens at the front. The front opening is edged in ruffles and the body of the skirt is decorated with bands of sequins. She is wearing is also wearing fishnet stockings and dark toned, high heel shoes with a front strap. Her hair is styled in a curly short bob. In the top left corner of the image is a handwritten inscription in black ink that reads, [To Lauri / A fine person / and class[?] friend. My best / to you in all / your plan[?] / Sincerely / Jackie Lait[?] / 5/8/1950]. The photographer's mark, printed in black, located in the bottom right corner reads, [Diaz & / Rogers / N.Y.]. There are no inscriptions on the back of the photograph.
