Description
A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of a man. The man is depicted in a full length pose, against a white gradient background. He is standing on his proper left leg, with his proper right leg behind him and the toes resting on the floor. His body is turned towards the viewer, his face is turned towards the left edge of the image, and he is looking up to the top left corner of the image. His proper right arm is extended upwards and his palm is facing out. His proper left arm is extended slightly out to his side with the palm facing down. He is wearing a dark toned, double breasted suit, a light toned collared shirt, and a patterned tie. He has a white pocket square in his proper left breast pocket. In the bottom right corner of the photograph is a handwritten inscription in black ink that reads, [To The "Princess" / Laurie / Best Wishes / Sammy[?]]. The photographer's mark, printed in the negative, located in the bottom right corner reads, [Romaine]. There are two stamps on the back of the photograph along the center of the bottom edge. The top stamp, in blue ink, reads, [PHOTOGRAPHY BY / Romaine / 220 JONES ST., SAN FRANCISCO], and the stamp below, in black ink, reads, [15[---?] 8 3].
