Description
A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of Laura Cathrell and a man. Cathrell and the man are standing in front of a door with a partially obscured black sign with white text that reads, [PLEASE / T[---?]L / [---?]T / [---?]NG]. Cathrell, depicted on the left, and the man, are standing next to each other. They are depicted from the thighs up, and the man’s proper left arm is wrapped around Cathrell’s waist. Cathrell is wearing a light toned, short sleeve dress with a matching belt. She has a triangle of dark patterned fabric pinned to her hip. Her body is turned slightly towards the man and she is looking towards the right edge of the image. The man is wearing a medium toned suit, white collared shirt, and a dark tie. He has a white pocket square in his proper left breast pocket. On the far left side of the image is a white brick wall, mounted with two (2) lightbulb cages at Cathrell’s shoulder height, and one hanging above her on the corner of the doorframe. An inscription in pencil on the back of the photograph reads, [7-13-54 / 81.00 Bill[?]]. There are no inscriptions on the front of the photograph.
