- Description
- A silver gelatin print depicting a black-and-white image of Don Redman. Redman is centrally depicted from the waist up. He stands with his arms and hands extended out to shoulder-level and holds a conductor’s baton in his proper left hand. He is smiling, standing left of center, and looking towards the right edge of the image. He is wearing a white jacket, white pants, white shirt, a black tie, and a black pocket square. He is depicted against a black background. The image is bordered with white and along bottom is black text on the left and right sides. The text on the lower left side reads, [DON REDMAN / and his Orchestra]. The text in the lower right corner reads, CENTURY ORCHESTRA COPR. / 1619 Broadway, New York, N.Y.]. There is a notation in pencil on the front. On the back there are pencil marks throughout and an inscription in pencil that reads, [Compliments of / Don Redmond [sic]].
