Description
A Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) jacket and patch.
The UNIA military jacket (2013.68.150.1) is black with red and green accents. The collar at the top has metal clasps at the split. The buttons are missing down the middle. The two pockets on either side of the chest has gold buttons. At the end of each sleeve there are three bars (red, green, red) and two gold buttons. The back of the jacket is blank.
The African Legion patch (2013.68.150.2) is green with red accents. The circular patch has a green background and red accents. The circle around the exterior is red thread and the continent of Africa is at center. Black lettering sewn across the continent reads [African Legion]. The back of the patch is blank.
