- Description
- An archival pigment print photograph of collaged images featuring a self-portrait of the artist's grandfather, Willard Thomas. Thomas wears a Korean War-ear military uniform and stands smoking a cigarette and wearing glasses, holds a camera with both hands at waist height, aimed towards a mirror. The mirror reflects open sky and trees behind him. This image has been cut into the shape of a house and is set into a photograph image of enslaved individuals standing outside plantation slave cabins. Part of this photograph's jagged bottom edge is visible across the lower right hand corner. The print is mounted on black sintra pvc board with back frame and a label with the work's title, date, medium, and dimensions.
