- This black-and-white photograph depicts a man, Derek Charles Livingston, in the crowd holding a sign that reads "I AM A BLACK, / GAY MAN / I AM A BLACK / MAN / I AM A MAN." The sign has a small rainbow image of the African continent at the top right. Livingston wears an earring and white tee shirt with a strip of traditional African cloth draped over his right shoulder. He is turned slightly away from the viewer to the right, and gazes to the right and downward. Behind him in the crowd are other men holding signs.
