This black-and-white photograph depicts a man, Derek Charles Livingston, in the crowd holding a sign that reads "I AM A BLACK, / GAY MAN / I AM A BLACK / MAN / I AM A MAN." The sign has a small rainbow image of the African continent at the top right. Livingston wears an earring and white tee shirt with a strip of traditional African cloth draped over his right shoulder.
