Description
This is a color photograph of Sam Gilliam seated in the middle of a paint-splattered plastic drop cloth. He is seated in the center of the image wearing navy blue coveralls that are covered in paint down his front. He sits with his legs crossed in front of him pointed towards the right. His clasped hands rest on his knees. Resting on his shins is a rake, also covered in paint splatters. The boots he wears and the rake are slightly camouflaged by the paint splatters that cover the floor in a multitude of colors. The image is bordered in a narrow black line on a large white background. Below the image in the lower left corner are the title, number, and date. Below the image in the lower right corner is the artist's signature. On the back in a repeating pattern is the paper manufacturer [Epson / Professional Paper / EPSON].
