- Description
- Appliqué quilt in red, dark green, yellow, and white made by Ruth Bailey. The quilt top consists of nine (9) blocks all the same with a hand-appliquéd abstract floral design in solid dark green, solid red, and yellow printed floral fabrics on a white ground. Dark green sashing and red posts surround the blocks, with a dark green border and red squares in each corner as a final border. There is no batting between the top and back layers, with the back made from plain white cotton. The edges of the back are turned over and hand stitched to the front to form the binding. The top and back are hand-quilted with white thread that is stitched in an outline pattern of the appliqué design on the top. A fabric label with embroidered text reading "Handmade by / Ruth Bailey" is sewn at the center of one border edge.
