- Description
- A two-sided poster on glossy paper advertising for a series of events. The title on the front of poster in black type reads: [A Series Of Events / ENDANGERED: / ART AND PERFORMANCE BY MEN OF COLOR]. Underneath the title, there are bullet points with text in black type in two columns providing the name of the featured participant, date and time of the events. The first bullet point reads: [Visiting Video Artist MARLON RIGGS / Thursday & Friday, October 4 & 5, 8 p.m. / ETHNIC NOTIONS & COLOR ADJUSTMENT / Saturday & Sunday, October 6 & 7, 8 p.m. / TONGUES UNTIED, AFFIRMATIONS, & CONFESSIONS OF A SNAP QUEEN]. The background of the poster front is a light purple with slightly darker purple silhouettes of three men. Each silhouette stands in the same position: head up with one hand spread and bent in the front, the other hand is curved behind the back. The proper right leg is bent up with the thigh parallel with ground. The first and third silhouette are cut off on the sides of the poster. Information for the gallery and admission is listed in the bottom right side of the poster (lined up with the right column) and reads: [Intermedia Arts Gallery / 413 First Avenue North / Downtown Minneapolis / Admission price for video events is $5/$3 members. The reverse side of the poster is split into two columns with additional information on the participants (Name, dates and times of performances, background information, and a black-and-white image). Marlon Riggs is at the top of the left column. In the top right corner there is a blank space that can be used for mailing this poster. The black type reads: [INTERMEDIA / ARTS / MINNESOTA / 425 Ontario Street SE / Minneapolis, MN 55414]. There is an inscription written by hand in pencil underneath that reads: [1990]. There is also a postage message reading [Nonprofit / Organization / US Postage / PAID / Minneapolis, MN / Permit #155] in black type and outlined in thin black solid line.
