- Description
- A digital aerial photograph of remnant rice fields along a section of the Combahee River flowing by Bluff Plantation in Colleton County, South Carolina. The river can be seen meandering through the center of the photograph, from bottom to top. It appears deep blue in contrast to the surrounding green and brown fields. The fields in the image’s lower half are noticeably lighter than the ones in the top half, while the ones in the top left are noticeably more flooded than the rest. Vestigial canals and “quarter ditches” can also be seen in all of these fields. In the top left, parts of Bluff Plantation’s grounds are visible.
