- I-95 heading north. Darien, GA is in the upper left. About 200,000 people cross these fields a day without a clue of the generations of people who once worked them. – Description from photographer David Soliday.
- Description
- A digital aerial photograph of remnant rice fields adjacent a strip of the Georgia I-95. The bottom left corner features the edge of nearby forests divided by the I-95, which continues northward. The Altamaha River can be seen flowing eastward, meandering through the light green remnant rice fields and underneath two bridges along the highway. Vestigial canals flow into the fields, with their edges marked by denser vegetation. In the distance, the highway passes through Butler River and Butler Island before disappearing into forests that occupy the background.
