- Description
- A digital scan of an aerial photograph depicting remnant rice fields on the Combahee Plantation in White Hall, South Carolina. The patches of vegetation in the foreground appear deep green, with small puddles of water within them appearing blueish black. Farther away, the grass looks brown. Vestigial “quarter ditches” and canals, which can be seen in most of the fields, create intricate patterns in the grass. In the distance, a faint horizon is visible against the light blue sky.
