The Sampit River in Georgetown, SC. Springtime. Obviously disintegrating fields. –Description from photographer, David Soliday.
Description
A digital aerial photograph of remnant rice fields along a section of the Sampit River in Georgetown County, South Carolina. The river can be seen flowing from the bottom left corner to the top right. In the middle of the image, Pennyroyal Creek merges with the Sampit, while Ports Creek flows into the Sampit in the top right. Numerous vestigial canals create noticeable geometric shapes in the landscape on both the left and right banks. In addition to the wetlands along the riverbanks, patches of trees are also visible in the top left and top right, along the edges of the image.
