- SC – Georgetown. Only right angles distinguish these having been once cultivated in rice. What is astounding is that they are so close to the ocean - explained by 5 large freshwater rivers flowing into the Winyah Bay. –Description from photographer, David Soliday.
- Description
- A digital aerial photograph of remnant fields along a section of North Santee Bay, just south of Winyah Bay, South Carolina. Vestigial canals create patterns in the green fields in the foreground, while a strip of land in the water separates North Santee Bay (below) from North Santee River (above) farther away. Alternating patches of land and water continue toward the top of the image until the Atlantic Ocean becomes visible in the distance.
