- Georgetown Area - Santee Coastal Reserve. The spit of land was probably once a rice field. Because of its proximity to the ocean, it is severely eroded. –Description from photographer, David Soliday.
- Description
- A digital aerial photograph of remnant rice fields on the Santee Coastal Reserve on Cedar Island, South Carolina. The South Santee River can be seen in the image’s bottom left corner, just above a canal on Cedar Island. Cedar Island itself occupies most of the image and features flooded fields with patches of green and brown grass as well as deep blue canals that are sometimes lined with trees. Crow Island, Little Crow Island and Minim Island, all of which are separated from Cedar Island by Duck Creek, can also be seen at the top of the image.
