ACE Basin Area. –Description from photographer, David Soliday.
Description
A digital aerial photograph of remnant rice fields along a section of the Combahee River in South Carolina’s ACE Basin region. The river occupies much of the lower half of the image. In the bottom right corner, a remnant rice field can be seen with its “quarter ditches” almost fully flooded. A dike separates the field from the meandering river. On the opposite bank, more fields are visible, separated from the river by a dike with a narrow strip of trees. The fields closer to the top of the image are also partially flooded but less defined than the ones seen toward the bottom of the image.
