Caption
An old film scan showing quarter ditches resistant to erosion - probably because of their depth. –Description from photographer, David Soliday.
Description
A digital scan of an aerial photograph depicting “quarter ditches” in remnant rice fields adjacent a section of Folly Creek (South Carolina). The fields and surrounding vegetation appear deep green in contrast to the deep black of the waters flowing through. Four fading lines in the landscape outline the vestigial “quarter ditches.”
