GA – Ogeechee River. Photographed just north of Fort McAllister near Richmond Hill, GA. The view is north towards Tybee Island. Fort McAllister offers the best-preserved earthwork fortification of the Confederacy. The earthworks were attacked seven times by Union ironclads but did not fall until 1864. Just upriver is Henry Ford's plantation. –Description from photographer, David Soliday.
