- Description
- A digital aerial photograph of remnant rice fields along a section of the South Edisto River in Colleton County, South Carolina. The river can be seen along the lower half of the image’s left edge embarking on a deep meander; it appears brown in contrast to the surrounding vegetation. Most of the rest of the photograph consists of flooded fields, outlined by various dikes and canals that create geometric shapes in the landscape. In the top right, the nearby Ashepoo River can also be seen meandering by, separating the fields in the foreground from taller, greener trees in the background.
