- The handwritten note identifies the snuff sticks in this collection as reportedly belonging to Ezzie Brown, a descendant of enslaved persons on Saint Simons Island off the coast of Georgia.
- Description
- The a color reproduction of a print depicting a seated woman wearing a red cap and blue dress with a snuff stick in her moth. At bottom left it reads "COPYRIGHT, 1907, J. ROYSTER" and at right: "PUBLISHED, DIXIE W. LEACH". Adhered to the sleeve on the print is a sticker with handwritten note reading [Snuff Sticks / Belonged to / Ezzie Brown / Slave Descendent / St. Simons Island / Georgia]. The back of the reproduction is blank.
